Oh My God – I’m a Finalist!!!!!

Morning my lovelies, from a very happy Fi!!

I was chilling last night catching up on my beloved Emmerdale (!) when I had a tweet from my gorgeous friend Maddy over at The Speed Bump (amazing blog – check her out) telling me to look at a link she’d tweeted me.  And Oh My God, you can imagine the excitement that took over me when I saw the link was announcing this years finalists for the 2016 MAD Blog Awards. I could not believe it when I saw my websites name there, as a finalist in the category of Best Baby Blog. I literally started to shake, I am so beyond thrilled and in a fair amount of shock; over 8,000 blogs were nominated across all the award catagories and there is my little websites name amongst them!

I am so grateful that people have taken the time to vote for me. I like to think my style of writing is fairly unique; I’ll let you in on a secret. Apart from sensible stuff like spelling and grammar, I don’t edit my posts once I’ve written them! When I write a blog, it always comes from the heart; I write with my emotions and I write exactly what is in my head at that moment. I think that makes you lovely readers warm to me, and relate to what I’m saying. I’m quite emotional and I don’t beat about the bush; I like to be honest in what I write whether that be giving baby advice like I did to my gorgeous pregnant friend Bex (see my letter to her here) to my views on controversial subjects such as C Sections and Breastfeeding

Most of all I am so grateful to anyone that voted for me. It’s such a special and personal thing to me; that someone would take time out of their day to vote for little old me in these brilliant awards. It means so much that you have enjoyed my writing enough to do that and I really hope the things I write have helped you, made you realise you’re not on your own with some of the challenges us Mummys endure, and that they’ve made you smile.

I am so ridiculously happy and grateful right now. I’m not naive; I know it’s a massive long shot to make it to the next stage given the amazing bloggers that are also in this category, but I am just so grateful to have made it this far. My blog is my passion, along with Josh of course (doesn’t he look proud of his Mummy – and I love him for giving me so many lovely things to write about) and to know I’ve been recognised for what I’ve achieved so far is mind boggling and wonderful!

And I am also thrilled to see some of my favourite bloggers also nominated in their categories; I will be first in line voting for you! I feel so lucky that I can count some of these fabulous and talented writers as friends.
