Top 5 Bug Bears – 30 Day Blogging Challenge Day 10

Morning Everyone,

So, day 10 of the 30 day blogging challenge! I don’t think I am doing too bad a job at blogging every day bearing in mind I have a little munchkin keeping me busy too.

Todays challenge is one I’ve been looking forward to, lets face it who doesn’t love a rant! Hold on to your knickers ladies cause I’m about to go off on one:

Top 5 Bug Bears

So, in no particular order:

Idiot Drivers…

FullSizeRender (61)

… more often than not BMW drivers. I hate to say it but every time I encounter a BMW driver then seem intent on either driving right up the arse of my car or overtaking at the most idiotic part of a road they see fit! The fact my husband decided he now wants to buy a BMW hasn’t gone down too well in our house!

But seriously, it’s not just BMW drivers. There are just some absolute idiot drivers in general which is especially worrying when you’ve got your baby in the car.  I like to think of myself as quite a considerate driver; I let people out of junctions and always appreciate those that thank you for doing so. So why is it some people find the simple function of raising a hand in thanks so much effort! Drives me mad – a quick flash of the lights to acknowledge I’ve let you out, that’s all I’m asking! On the other side of the coin are those people who fly out of junctions at a dangerously close point to you as though they are in a mad rush, only to then brake and dawdle along for the rest of your journey; why did you pull out so dangerously if you aren’t in a rush! Annoying

And final point, indicators are on your car for a reason! Bloody use them!

Unwanted Parenting Advice

OK, I may sound like a bitch now but I guarantee most of you will get this. “I know it’s easy for me to say but you need to do this…” Yes it is easy for you to say, you aren’t the one who is exhausting and losing the plot cause she’s been up all night with a screaming baby! I know most advice is given with the best of intentions but sometimes it can make you want to lose your shit in the most spectacular way! I’ve even had friends borderline scold me telling me I really should have done things a certain way and therefore making you feel like a bit of a failure! Not cool. Even better, the advice you get from those who don’t even have children. Very f**king annoying. Yes you mean well, but you don’t have a clue. When you have a baby up half the night, every night, then you can tell me how to soothe him/dress him/feed him. When you know the utter hell that is sleep deprivation, then you can give me advice!

**Disclosure – I do love all my friends and family for their help and advice – don’t take this personally if you read it – if you’re a mummy too, you’ll understand it**

Kim Kardashian

FullSizeRender (62)

She came, She spread her legs, She conquered!! She had her “private sex tape leaked” and for all this she became a global icon for women and girls every where all whilst flashing her enormous arse and most recently her noonie! Find some self respect. If any other woman was all over the internet shagging her other half she’d be torn to shreds, yet this woman is celebrated, adored and managed to get on the cover of Vogue. Egotistical tit!

However I do quite like Khloe – I admire her “take no shit” attitude

Passive Aggressive Facebook Status

It goes like this:

Status: “Such a bad day” to which a friend comments “whats up hun” to which they reply “I’ll DM you hun”.

Then why did you put that status on Facebook at all! If you’re not going to enlighten us all to whats wrong then why bother! Attention seeking and annoying. Just do what I do and go off on a rant; at least it’ll entertain your Facebook friends!

I’ve also been on the receiving end of coded Facebook status’s. For example a friend will put “Why must people document their pregnancy on Facebook – keep it private”. I actually had this from an old school friend; she couldn’t understand why I had posted pictures of my bump throughout pregnancy and told me she found it self indulgent. I had taken those pictures to share with friends and family who live hundreds of miles away from me and were missing seeing my ever changing bump! But if you don’t like it don’t follow my Facebook. And grow some balls and tag me in your bitchy status if you’ve got something to say rather than the whole “why must people do this…..”

Lack of Manners

FullSizeRender (63)

This is one that is probably on most peoples lists! But it really takes nothing to say please or thank you. How many times have you moved aside to let someone past only for them to just stroll by without even acknowledging you, or held a door open for someone and they just sail through like they’re royalty and above saying thank you for this! It drives me mad and I am prone to the odd sarcastic “you’re welcome” said loudly as they retreat!! It takes nothing more than a second to deliver a please or thank you, it’s such a simple but priceless thing and something we’ve all had drummed into us since childhood so it baffles me that people don’t adhere to it.

So there we have it those are my top 5 bug bears! Of course there are tonnes of other annoying niggly things that drive me mad…..:

  • Doctors Receptionists – the anti christ! Rude, intimidating and yet they expect you to divulge every personal aspect of your illness only for them to refer you for a telephone call with the on call doctor
  • Pubs/bars that don’t sell prosecco – absolute fucking joke
  • The 50 million leaflets you get inside magazines
  • Courtesy calls from banks/insurers to check you’re happy with the service – yes I was till you decided to call the second I got my baby to sleep
  • Bus drivers – grumpy nutters!
  • People walking in front of you really slowly then just stopping – MOVE!!!!!!!
  • Bear Grylls – I don’t get it! Why put yourself through all that shit. Stop drinking your own piss and just book a hotel!
  • When supermarkets have something you really want on offer but it runs out cause they never have enough stock !
  • Snooty girls who work in clothes stores. You’re working in Zara love, not Dior, so stop looking down your nose at me when I’m trying on those skinny jeans which even at the age of 32 (ancient to you) I will rock!
  • Ashley Cole. Dick

Right that’s it I will stop ranting! I hope this post made you laugh a bit at least.

Back tomorrow with a more mild mannered challenge:

Favourite foods and why

Thanks for listening to me rant!

Xxx

  1. Hahaha love this! I am so with you on most of these – manners, bad drivers and unsolicited parenting advice do my head in. And I’ve always moaned about that on Facebook ‘feeling so sad’ ‘oh what’s up?’ ‘You know, nothing much, the usual’…WHY SHARE IT AT ALL?! #StayClassy

  2. Oh god this has had me in stitches! When you rant, you really rant!! Agree with passive aggressive facebook status – we all have that one person who is guilty of doing that ALL THE TIME!! Also – prosecco in pubs? You’re so posh 😉 I’ve enjoyed reading your blogging challenge posts, looking forward to the rest! #coolmumclub

I am Mrs positive but I do really love a good rant on occasion too and I am with you ons several of these points, drivers, advice givers, Kim bloody big bottom, passive aggression and I loved your Bear Grylls comment that was a spit out the chocolate moment. Perhaps rants are your USP as this was classic!!! TY for linking up with #FamilyFun 🌸

  4. I love this, a good rant is always therapeutic! The FB one made me laugh, I have this on my news feed every single day. It makes ME want to write a passive aggressive status about just how annoying their passive aggressive statuses are!!! #stayclassy

  5. Fantastic – the Facebook status thing does my head in, both the bitchy secret one and the poor me I need you all to ask whats wrong… grrr! But by far my favourite part was the Bear Grylls statement this made me chuckle for a while, I even told it to the other half #familyfun

  6. I’m with you on the unwanted parenting advice, especially from non-parents. They assume that certain things are really simple to fix when they don’t have a clue what it’s like to deal with a screaming baby! I also get really annoyed by slow walkers. I’m that person who’s constantly pushing past people on the pavement, which probably pisses them off as much as their slowness bothers me! #StayClassy

  7. I loved this. I am so with you on Kim Kardashian and the facebook thing. The most annoying ones check into hospital with no explanation. I’m nosey goddamn it. I want to know what you are doing there but I’m not going to be desperate and ask!!! #effitfriday

  8. hehehehehe now this is a proper rant post! Kim Kardashian – I’m right there with you! Bad drivers – disaster. Unwated parenting advice – the worst! You gave me a great laugh this Friday morning, thank you 🙂 #effitfriday x

  9. “Oh no, what’s up hun?” I am totally with you on that one! Self-pitying, look-at-me status updates on Facebook are the absolute WORST! As is any usage of the word “hun,” in any context that is not a reference to famed historic warlord “Attila the Hun.” That I will accept. Anything else: BANNED. Sorry everyone!

  10. These are so true! The Facebook one is quite a big one to me. Especially the people who tag themselves “At A&E” and then don’t respond to people asking if they’re ok. Get a grip of yourselves!
I rant regularly about unwanted parenting advice. Especially when you’ve tried everything and some numpty goes “Is she hungggrryyyy?” YES LIKE I HAVEN’T TRIED THAT!!!
Dr’s receptionists annoy me because it’s not even like they operate a triage system. They’re always like “I just need to put something in the box”. So put “unwell” because the dr won’t bloody read it anyway.
    phew!

  11. Passive aggressiveness in general is the worst! And on FB, calling it self indulging…maybe you should unfriend her. Your rant on Kim K was hilarious and I completely agree. I’m just glad my husband will not watch reality t.v. and I can say with 100% relief that I have never watched any episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians. However, I live on Earth so I still know who she is and the name of their reality show. #StayClassy

  12. Brilliant post! Lots of my personal pet hates too! The one where people walk super slow and then stop is so annoying and also when they take up all the pavement and you try and do a Lewis Hamilton and sneak past but they move at the last second and you end up bumping them with the buggy…oops! My bad! #FamilyFun

  13. Attention seeking FB status drives me mad! Like that will earn people a block and delete because its so annoying and I don’t want their drama in my life, but then I do because I get curious about what has happened and it’s just too much! #KCACOLS

  14. haha oh I love this and I agree with every single thing. Bus drivers are the worst drive me insanse some days and don’t even start me on facebook! #kcacols

  15. Facebook in general is one of my biggest bugbears. I use my account for comping, blogging exchange groups, and doing my absolute best to avoid speaking to anyone I actually know on it… I’m so with you on people who just stop in front of you too. So annoying!

Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday x

  16. This made me actually laugh aloud! Brilliant, I agree with all of your points and now would like to go for a prosecco and a rant with you, I am quite rant-y myself on occasion, driving being a main one of mine, and I’m better then I used to be amazingly! Thanks for linking up with us! #bigpinklink

  17. Hahah love this! I can relate to all of them, but especially Kim Kardashian and Facebook status. How can women support another woman with no talent? I don’t get it. I refuse to watch any of those reality shows or buy any magazines that do not support intelligent, hard-working women. Sorry I sound a little extreme but how are women supposed to be successful when an image of Kim showing her ass is what girls visualise as “successful.” Women already have a hard enough time trying to be equal to men in the workplace, let’s not make it any more difficult. Anywaaay, on the FB status, I had a similar situation, why not be proud of the fact your growing a human inside you?! : ) Thanks for linking up with #StayClassy!

  18. Who doesn’t love a good rant!? I love it and I’m with you (pitchfork in hand) on all of the above points. Especially the driving one. I even have my own road rage sort of swear word “Penarse!” Which I exclusively use to describe numpty and inconsiderate drivers. Don’t know where it came from but it shoots involuntarily from my mouth every time I witness shoddy or rude driving. That and “Don’t signal love, I’ll just guess!” Grrr!!

Thanks for sharing. I’ve enjoyed ranting along with you!

  19. So totally with you on all of these things, vague and passive aggressive facebook statuses are the very worst! I’ve seen grown women doing it… Come on!

And don’t get me started on BMW drivers. The most thankless job in the world must be installing indicators in the BMW factory!

    Rant ranty rant #bigpinklink

  20. I could have sworn I already left a comment on this one but never mind. Going senile in my old age perhaps!

Agree with every point. Can’t stand vaguebooking or blinkin BMW drivers! Must be an unrewarding job fitting indicators in in the BMW factory!

  21. I quite enjoyed reading your rant – Kim Kardashian wouldn’t make it into my top 5 but I do often wonder how on earth she’s become such an icon. Idiotic driving though and coded Facebook messages – oh yes, they would definitely make it into my top 5. I also hate the way people who left school years ago still act like playground bullies on Facebook and start having a public and bitchy conversation about someone with their friends and people who use Facebook as Google – e.g. does anyone know the phone number for the local takeaway?” – it would have taken less time to find out the answer on Google than it would have done to type that status! #BloggerClubUK

  22. This post is like you’ve stepped into my psyche and written almost Word for Word exactly what I would say! You did make me laugh with this post! Thank you for also sharing my frustrations, even if you didn’t know until this second! xxx #BloggerClubUK 😉 xxx

  23. Loved these – can’t disagree with a single one (although I should probably disclose that I am a BMW driver – sorry! I promise I’m a lovely one though!) My absolute top worst offender though is the parenting advice – unless someone’s asked for it, why stick your nose in? And I find you get it far more from strangers than from close friends and family! Infuriating! #BloggerClubUK

  24. You did make me chuckle with that post, very good. But why why why do people walk walk walk so slow, then stop! and the facebook thing!!! aaaargh, how annoying!
Blogging is great for a rant isn’t it. Especially when others can agree with you! 😉

  25. I’m getting used to bad driving if the crazy roads of Dubai are anything to go by! Indication means you better move I’m already in…..

Facebook YES I want to know, and I’m not quite desperate enough to ask you about it.

And Kimmy K. Sigh. Love the use of the word noonie though 😉 xx

  26. I don’t care much about Kardashian getting naked, good for her if it’s what she want to do – I spend much of my time naked but no would pay me for it. My problem is their fame is based on nothing, on being famous. #bigpinklink

  27. WHY do people think it’s okay to thrust advice at you just because you’re pregnant/a mother? RUDE! I especially hate it when it’s people who have never even had children. That just baffles me. I always want to ask “how the fuck would you know?!” but it sounds too bitter! #coolmumclub
