Hi Everyone,
So I’ve seen quite a few posts like this so far this year with peoples goals for the year and I have to say I love them! I find them really motivating to read so I’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon and do one of my own. I’ve got so many plans for this year and things I want to accomplish and I think having them down on paper (OK, Screen!) will push me even more to achieve them!
Personal Goals
Enjoy Every Moment Of Motherhood
So now I am a Mummy and fortunate enough to be a stay at home mummy, and I plan on enjoying every moment. Don’t get me wrong I know there will be tough and testing times (believe me I already know, and will write about that in another blog) but I feel so lucky to be at home with Josh and getting to spend these precious moments with him.
I think an important part of being a stay at home Mum is to make sure you see other Mums. After what I found to be a really tough start to motherhood I’ve since made sure that every day I get out and about and have enjoyed lots of coffee meet ups with friends. I think its important to make sure you get some adult conversation every day as well as getting some fresh air. Cabin fever can set in quickly and thats one thing I want to really avoid especially in these winter months. I want to be the absolute best mother I can be and the most important part of that is to be happy and positive. I love Josh so much – it’s hard not to have a constant smile on my face when I’m around him.
Get toned up!
OK, now first of all I want to say I’m not going to go on a diet or get obsessive about losing weight. I put on quite a lot of weight during my pregnancy but I did need to put a bit on as I was too thin at the start of 2015. So I am planning on toning up, rather than losing weight. I want to tone up my stomach and bum before summer kicks in and I plan to use Results with Lucy as it’s something I can do at home in my own time and without putting pressure on myself. I’ve always been very very lucky with my figure and metabolism so I want to get it back. It may sound a bit shallow but I’m proud of my body, even more so now that it’s created my gorgeous little Josh. I don’t like the pressure people put on you when you gain pregnancy weight but even more so the pressure we put on ourselves. I want to make sure I do this in a healthy way and just seeing it as something positive to aim for.
Find a Cosy Cottage… And buy a puppy!
We don’t need to move. We have nice house in a lovely area. But both me and the hubs have always dreamed of a cosy cottage in the country with our baby and a puppy! So we are lucky we are in a position where we don’t need to rush to move so we can take our time in looking for the right thing and I am hoping somewhere lovely comes up. There are so many gorgeous villages around here so I am hopeful something will come up. I’ve nagged my poor husband for a puppy for years!!! And he has now promised me that, cottage permitting, this is the year I’ll get my very own andrex Labrador puppy! That complete with our beautiful Josh and our two rather stupid cats, means I will be the luckiest girl in the world!
Beauty, Baby and Me – EXPAND!
Since starting my blog last year I’ve come to love it more and more. I absolutely love writing and sharing my thoughts and experiences with you all. I’m still very new to it all so I am learning all the time and I’m hoping to increase my followers and audience. If I get to 1000 followers on Twitter I’d be so happy!!
I’m also going to increase my use of affiliate marketing; I’ve concentrated a lot of my writing on pregnancy and Josh’s arrival and neglected the beauty and fashion side of my blog, including reviewing products. Now that I am getting back into my clothes and enjoying the new season of fashion I can’t wait to put together some outfit ideas and recommendations as well as trying out the summer beauty products – bring on the fake tan!
More Writing…
On top of my blog I’ve got a couple of other writing projects I want to start. In all honesty I don’t know when I’ll find the time but I have two book ideas – one being about pregnancy, and another being a “chick-lit” romantic novel! All I’ll say is watch this space…..
Be Grateful Every Day
Not so much a goal, but something we should all do every day and that is to be incredibly grateful every day for what we have; family, friends, our health, a few quid in your pocket to buy this months Vogue and a glass of prosecco. Sometimes when I am feeling down, be it from being tired, or womanly grumpy, it takes just a second to remind myself how lucky I am with all that I have in life including the amazing people in it and the wonderful people I’ve been blessed with meeting.
What are your goals for 2016?
Happy Reading

What great goals! I love the idea of cosy cottage and writing! I used to write all the time and even have a few ideas, but I don’t know where I’ll find the time anymore!

Wow…the cottage and puppy, that’s living the dream isn’t it! For me the year ahead is a blank canvas…I’m debating whether to look for a proper job again, or stay home with the girls. I think I’m just going to see what the breeze blows my way 🙂

Lovely post with great goals. So many things that you are looking forward for this year!! It is funny now that you are mentioning about a puppy because my daughter is now constantly asking us for one but unfortunately there is no way I could get one at least not while we are living in a tiny flat. So if someday we are lucky to move to a house with a garden I might reconsider this idea although it worries me that a dog, a cat, 2 girls and hubby will be a lot of work!! lol I wish you all the best for 2016!! Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I would love to see you again on Sunday! 🙂 x

Really fab goals! I love the thought of a cottage in the country, but instead we moved last year to a much bigger house right on the edge of town so we have pavements for the pushchair and can walk to the supermarket, but it’s so quiet, so peaceful, we can see the stars and don’t have a house immediately behind us (it took us a year to find the house with this as a main criteria). Your blog is fab, so I’m sure you’ll go far this year with that and your other writing goals xx #thebabyformula
